Has anyone stayed at Dennis Seashores in Dennisport recently? We just booked for Summer %26#39;08 site unseen since 1980! :)
We needed a few cottages for our large family and the rates for early summer were too good to pass up!
Any information on Dennisport and the Dennis Seashores would be greatly appreciated!
Dennis Seashores
I can%26#39;t say I%26#39;ve been in them, but we did drive by them a couple of weeks ago. They looked very charming. I will say, I saw them and said to my husband, I wish we had booked there. Good luck.
Dennis Seashores
My husand and I booked a Fall 2007 vacation and are staying in one fo the smaller Dennis Seashore cabins at the end of October. We%26#39;ve never been there before but once we get back I%26#39;ll let you know how it is.
So, I told you that I would let you know how our stay was and it was wonderful! The cabin was cozy and cute and the property managment people were VERY helpful. If you looking for a great place to get away but still don%26#39;t mind cooking and fending for yourself than this is for you, but if you%26#39;re looking for a place to be pampered, this isn%26#39;t it. Each cabin is owned my different people (managed by one company) so sone cabins are more updated than others. Ours was a little dated, but still we loved it. We were there in October as it began to get cold, so we enjoyed brisk walks on the beach in the early morning and each night we we lit a fire. We would go back! (We stayed cabin #3- a two bedroom cabin).
We have spent summers there since 1984. We stay in a smaller cottage (5 is our favorite) when it is just my husband and I and stay in the larger ones (23) when we have family with us. The place is a step back in time-a friendly, safe family resort. The beach is gorgeous and uncrowded. The cottages are individually owned. We like 5 for the deck out back which gets the morning sun and is a great cooler spot in the evening. We walk to the Sundae School for ice cream and the Ocean House for gourmet dining. The area is becoming nicer every year with older motel units being developed into upscale condos. There was a new manager last year who was incredibly friendly.
Thanks for all of the updates. I wish I had checked over here sooner!
Our trip is the first week of June. We have 3 cottage total - one is on the water. I am SOOOO excited! My daughter is almost the age where I went to the cape the first time and we are staying at the same place - yay!
I will update with pics after we return.
first week of June? yikes....bring sweaters and sweatshirts and jeans. I love the Cape early in the season, but unless you love icy cold water for swimming, you may only get your toes wet. Also, be prepared that not all businesses may be open full-time. A couple years ago we got to Chatham first week of June and I was surprised that not all establishments were operating on ';summer hours'; yet. Maybe be different in Dennis, but the best part is you%26#39;ll avoid the usual summer crowds %26amp; traffic. Enjoy!
Yes, I have heard how cold it is! But to be honest I think the high season summer waters would be too cold for us Texans! Any water sub 75 is too frigid for me!
To be honest, having to wear jeans in June will be fantastic to us. We hit 86 here in Austin already this weekend. I know by the first week of June we will have many, many high 90 days.
We drove by Dennis Seashores the other day. It looked great-new landscaping and beautiful walkway to the beach. We called and there are only a few openings left during the summer. We will be going in September when the weather is still great and the crowds are gone. We have two cottages-one on the ocean side (18) and cottage 5 again.
These cottages sound wonderful. Is there a website? Approximately how much is a smaller cottage for a week?
I%26#39;m thinking of taking my BF to the Cape for the first time in September or October.
Yes there is.
