Where to spend anniversary weekend

I am having the hardest time picking a place for my husband and I to spend a weekend for our 1-year anniverary in mid-June. We live in Boston, but just moved here last summer so we%26#39;re not familiar with New England... do we go to the Cape? Or Rhode Island? New Hampshire?

Ideally we%26#39;d like to be 1-1.5 hrs from Boston, on (or walking distance to) the beach, and relatively inexpensive (under $400 for two nights). Some great attractions/ restaurants/ shopping nearby would be great too. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

Also if we can%26#39;t get two nights for that price we%26#39;d be willing to do one night (assuming we could get a one night stay somewhere) but it seems like I am finding places for $100-$150/night. I guess I don%26#39;t know what you get for that price though!

Congratulations on your First Anniversary!!!

Do a bit more research to pin down your location...that%26#39;s something only you can do. A Cape Cod stay seems to fit your needs but still, you have lots of options because each area of the Cape is different and each village is unique. If you are interested in staying in the National Seashore, Eastham is the closest town...about 1.5 hours from Boston. Eastham is only 3 miles wide from Ocean to Bay so you will never be too far from the beach! My personal favorite is Fort Hill Bed and Breakfast www.forthillbedandbreakfast.com which is the only lodging in the National Park. They have a suite for $225/night that includes a full breakfast. So for $450 total you could get 2 nights there. I%26#39;m not sure they would do one night on a weekend but you could always call and ask. fort Hill B+B is highly rated on TA and Kim Grant, Frommers and Fodors all give the small inn great recommendations. Still, $450 may be more than you want to spend. Fort Hill is a short drive to fine dining and ocean beaches (not on the beach or in a busy town) but there are lovely walks on nature trailsthat wander along the coast and ocean views that will take your breath away. For other options, look at the chamber of commerce web sites for each town. These will get you started:

I know that other TA regulars have their own favorites so for sure you will find something that will make your anniversary special!
