Cape Cod National Seashore Beach Parking

Will I have a hard time finding parking late morning to early afternoon at one of the Cape Cod National Seashore Beaches during a weekday in the last week of August? In particular, I am most interested in Nauset Beach. I understand the parking fee is $15 for the day.

Last week of Aug. some kids have school so there are lesser crowds. You should be good. Not sure the fee as I do not spend the summers on Cape Cod anymore.

Depending on what time you get there, you may have to wait a bit. Usually if you there before 11, you%26#39;re good. There%26#39;s lots of variables here, but we%26#39;ve never waited at Nauset longer than 10 minutes.

Not to confuse you, but just wanted to be sure you are wanting Nauset Light Beach (Cape Cod National Seashore in Eastham) and not Nauset Beach (in Orleans, town run). Nauset Light fills up in the afternoon. Get there by 10 AM and no waiting by late August! Both are great beaches.

Just to clarify, I had meant Nauset Light Beach - where the lighthouses are.

Then follow CapeMermaid%26#39;s advice - get to Nauset Light early or you are sure to be disappointed - it has the smallest parking lot of all (but is a spectacular beach!)

In the summer you used to be able to park in the school parking lot and take the shuttle bus to the beach. Same arrangements for the Coastguard Beach in Eastham. We go to the Cape in September now so no problems with parking and it%26#39;s free.

The last week of August is not as busy as mid-July and early August so you probably will be OK with parking at Nauset Light Beach. If it%26#39;s full, just drive up the coast to Marconi which probably will have spaces to park. In any event, the Park Service usually puts a big neon sign on Rt. 6 at the visitor%26#39;s Center before Coast Guard Beach to alert beach-goers to the parking situation. Mid-summer we have driven all the way to Truro%26#39;s Head of the Meadow Beach to park! But as I said, late August is not so crowded. check out www.nps.gov/caco
