My husband %26amp; I are taking my elderly (late 80%26#39;s) parents into TD Bank North next week for the Andre Rieu concert and would like some advice from the Boston experts:
First, we are driving in from North Central Massachusetts. Is there parking right at the Garden? Will we have any trouble getting a spot?.
I am thinking we will arrive late afternoon and get a bite to eat before the concert. What restaurants are in the vicinity? Are taxi%26#39;s readily available if we want to venture away form the immediate vicinity for dinner?
I know the North End is fairly close, but unfortunately, my dad doesn%26#39;t care for Italian food. So I guess we are looking for very traditional American cuisine
Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.
TD Bank North Garden - parking %26amp; dinner questions
You have a couple of choices for parking, and your circumstances will determine their feasibility.
There is parking at the Garden, owned and operated by the MBTA. It is accessible via Nashua Street. If you go to Google Maps and type in TDBanknorth Garden, drill down close enough to see the entrance area off Nashua Street.
The next closest location is the Government Center Garage, at Congress Street, between New Chardon and New Sudbury Streets. Their rates might be less than being right at the Garden but you have a few blocks walk to contend with. They are at the Haymarket T station so you could get on and go the one stop to North Station and come up into the the concourse.

There are a limited number of eating places around North Station/BankNorth Garden, but they are of the pub-type variety. The Bulfinch Hotel is on a flat-iron shaped parcel on Merrimac street has a tapas restaurant. With Italian off the list it really cuts down on the options. The Ruby Room at the Onyx Hotel could be another option. They%26#39;re right on Portland Street within striking distance of the Garden.

TD Bank North Garden - parking %26amp; dinner questionsIt depends on how active your parents are in regard to walking. If they can%26#39;t walk your best bet would be to park under the Garden. When we see the celtics event parking is 22.00. We once tried to get in there 3 hours early to go to dinner and they wanted to charge us 40.00. There is a garage directly across from the parking entrance to the Garden (I hope that makes sense) which charges 25.00.
When we see the Celtics we always park at the Boston Science Musuem. Parking there after 5 pm is a flat rate of 6.00. You take a ticket upon entering the garage. You cut through the musuem and go out the front door. The garden is about 1/2 to 3/4 mile away. When you come back you go back through the musuem and have your ticket validated at a self service kiosk in the lobby.
Maybe you could drop your parents off and then park there. Getting out of the parking garages are crazy. You%26#39;ll spend an hour or more trying to get out. If you park at the Science Musuem you%26#39;ll get out of their garage and the entrance for the highway is right there.
You%26#39;ll never get stuck in traffic and you%26#39;ll be on your way home in no time at all.
As far as restaurants go I can%26#39;t really help you with that.
re: Museum of Science Parking garage... just be aware that the garage closes at 11 p.m.
Yes, there are taxis in the area.
For a bite to eat try The Fours restaurant. It%26#39;s right across the street from the Garden on Canal Street. American cuisine/pub food. On game days it%26#39;s a hopping sports bar, on a concert night there should be much loess volume.
You may want to consider dinner at DJ%26#39;s at the Garden. I haven%26#39;t been but read all about the review in the Boston Globe recently. They just opened about 4 months ago. People seem to be raving about their braised shortribs and fish tacos. It%26#39;s one block from the Garden on Friend St. Here%26#39;s the website

If you park at the Science Musuem the garage closed at midnight on Friday %26amp; Saturday night, 11pm during the week.
