How to get to Fenway Park from Westin Copley Place?

I am going to visit Boston this September and lucky enough to get the ticket for a baseball game at Fenway (of course I love Red Sox). I am quite a foreigner (from Japan), so please let me know how to get to Fenway park from Westin Copley Place. I am ready to walk if possible.

Sorry for my poor English!

Your English is great!

You can certainly walk from Copley to Fenway Park. The easiest route (although not the shortest) is to go to Commonwealth Avenue, heading west (away from downtown). It is less than a mile to Kenmore Square, and then you follow the mobs and mobs of people by turning left on Brookline Street. You%26#39;ll see the ballpark almost immediately.

if you look at a map, there is a shorter route if you follow Boylston Street most of the way to Fenway Park. Before a game, there are so many people heading towards the ballpark, that you can just follow them, and you hardly even need directions.

The subway also goes from Copley Square to Kenmore Square. However, before any home Red Sox game, the green line trains are so jammed with people, that this should be avoided if possible. It would be a short ride.

Have a wonderful trip, and GO RED SOX!

You can also walk through Copley Square Mall, over the pedestrian bridge to the Prudential Mall....through the Pru Mall and out to Boylston St...then follow Boylston and the crowds to Fenway.

Of course, that would sort of defeat the purpose of enjoying an outdoor walk through Boston, but it is an option in case of rain, cool weather, or if you just want to window shop a little bit.

Thanks for your kind and prompt replies, which are very helpful for me. Such an information is not on any kind of guidebook, I appreciate you again.

May I ask one more qusetion? What do you think about walking back to Copley from the Park after the game? Isn%26#39;t it dangerous walking around there at night?

It shouldn%26#39;t be any problem walking back. Normally, I add a comment about using ';normal'; city precautions, but there will be so many people walking that route after the game that I think it unnecessary.

We walked from Fenway to the Westin in August last year and it was fine. There will be a lot of people walking with you!! It was about a 20 minute walk and was a lot of fun because everyone was still talking about the game. Enjoy.

Yes its very safe and you might meet some friendly Red Sox fans have fun.

I agree that it will not be a problem walking back to your Hotel after the game. Just make sure you know the route that you will take. There will be plenty of people walking after the game in the same direction. I hope that Daisuke Matsuzaka starts and he is relieved by Hideki Okajima.

Thanks a lot for all of you.

I will take a walk to and from Fenway.

By the way, how about the weather and temperature of late September (I am going to watch the game on September 24th) in Boston every year? And please advise me about clothing if you have any idea.

New England weather is always changing. Average temperatures for your visit period is high of 68 degrees, low of 54. Your best bet is to wear layers of clothing to adapt to our weather pattern.
