Car rental from Boston to Quebec city
There are no laws against a U.S. citizen renting a car in the U.S. and driving it into Canada, however, the car must be dropped off back in the U.S.
For Quebec City, seeing the Old Town area is a must. I would go to the Quebec City forum for suggestions.

You have to inform the car rental company that you plan to go to Canada. This ensures you have insurance coverage there.

A drive from Boston to Quebec City is a long drive and will involve local roads with low speed limits. Make sure you have a passport for the crossing - just in case.
THE place you should stay while in Quebec City is the Chateau Frontenac. It sits high atop the hill in the center of the Old Town looking out over the St. Lawrence River and the lower streets. With the currencies running neck and neck it won%26#39;t be cheap. A funicular will take you down into the lower sections of Old Town which has lots of cozy caf茅s and shops. My fave caf茅 sits along the block looking up at the Chateau and the small square. It gets the afternoon sun and is a perfect spot for people watching.
One thing to remember: you%26#39;re going to be well north and it%26#39;s still quite cold in Canada. Take clothing that can be layered and sensible shoes as you%26#39;ll be covering a fair amount of territory on uneven streets. And brush up on your French; most speak English but in this bastion of Francophone territory it goes a long way.
