Renting a Ocean Edge Condo - is it different from the resort

I am planning to rent one of the privately owned units at the Ocean Edge Condo in Brewster. These units advertise that they are right next to the resort and have access to the pools, tennis courts, the bike paths etc. Does anyone have experience renting these condos? Is the experience really the same as being a guest at the resort?

we have stayed in the hotel at Ocean Edge and rented a private condo on the golf course. If the people you are renting from have access to the pool, etc. and you are satisfied with that it is a nice place to vacation. If you want all the bells %26amp; whistles (kids activities, etc) you are better off at the resort.

Way different from the resort in that you have your own apartment with kitchen, washer-dryer, etc. If you rent through the resort I think you get maid service but you%26#39;ll pay more than if you rent from an agency as mentioned above but usually with a 7 day minimum. You are also across the street from the beach resort (not easy walking distance)as far as I know- you need to take a shuttle to the main resort but you can use their facilities for sure.

Within the past three years, we have stayed in a one bedroom townhouse unit through the resort and a 2 bedroom condo unit rented from an owner. Both were good experiences.

You will pay more to stay at the %26#39;resort%26#39; but our one bedroom unit was also on the southside of Route 6A and a shuttle away from the beach. In both cases we had access to the indoor and outdoor pools. The bike path is open to anyone who choses to use it. I%26#39;m guessing that the only real difference between the resort and the private owned condos is access to kid scheduled activities and the resort shuttle bus.

If you stay in a resort room (like a Marriott type room), you will be closer to the beach and within walking distance of outdoor and indoor pools.

If you are travelling with kids, I%26#39;d rent the condo. Just be sure it comes with pool passes.
