Bars in Boston that can accomodate large groups

My girlfriend and I are arranging a get-together in Boston at the end of May for a group of about 26 people. I%26#39;m hoping to find a bar that can accommodate that kind of sized group on a Thursday night - nothing too raucous as there%26#39;s a range of ages, but nothing too sedate either!

We%26#39;re eating at a restaurant in the North End, so ideally are looking for somewhere within walking distance. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hmmm, that%26#39;s a tall order. Were you looking for standing room or space to seat that many?

The two that come to mind would be the Kinsale at Government Center or the Red Hat. They%26#39;re both within walking distance of the North End. The Kinsale is probably the better of the two in terms of atmosphere - warm colors, large standing area near the bar, etc. The Red Hat has a large dining room/lounge area upstairs that would work. The decor is, shall we say, original, with murals of Old Scollay Square and times gone by.

The 4%26#39;s on Canal St near the Garden is also a good spot for a large group. Just check and make sure there is no event at the garden that night

Sorry, this is the correct link for a private room at the Hard Rock:

Here%26#39;s a few more to look at for the North End.

Many thanks to all of you for these suggestions. We%26#39;ll start taking a look at each these.

With regards to seating, we don%26#39;t necessarily expect somewhere that can seat us all, but if we were to find an area that could seat a dozen of us that%26#39;d probably work.

How about Joe%26#39;s American Bar and Grille? They%26#39;re located at 100 Atlantic Ave in the North End. They do have a private room that can accommodate up to thirty people. www.joesamerican.com. (617)367-8700.

Also, the Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market area is chock full of bars, and it%26#39;s a short walk from the North End.

Downstairs at Caffe Vittoria on Hanover Street. Very (European) Italian room, and people can choose between drinks, good espresso or cappuccino, or gelato -- e.g., something for everyone. Better ask/let them know, so they%26#39;ll have waitstaff.

There are some decent suggestions here but I have to ask: when you say ';there%26#39;s a range of ages';, what do you mean? Like, little kids to grandparents???? Or just, say, 20s and 30s? That makes a BIG difference.

PS Where are you going in the North End that can accommodate 26 people? :-)
