We will be flying into Logan Airport arriving early in the afternoon in July and staying at the La Quinta Somerville. Even though it has an airport shuttle, to we may go ahead and pay for an airport taxi to take us there and avoid the wait. The address is 23 Cummings Street, Somerville. Does anyone have an ideal what would be a reasonable cab fare for this trip. Thanks.
Logan to Somerville taxi fare?
My guesstimate would be around $40
Logan to Somerville taxi fare?
Maybe around $30 if they don%26#39;t drive you all over creation. The Massport website which gives you rate information is: www.massport.com/logan/getti_typeo_taxis.html
The traffic in the early afternoon should allow for a pretty straight forward ride using the Sumner Tunnel to Interstate 93 North. Once on I93 it is less than a 5 mile ride. Under those circumstances it should be in the $25-$30 range.
I would plan on the higher amounts noted. Fares mount quickly on the highway.

You could call the hotel and get a number for a local cab company. A somerville cab can collect you with a reservation. Most likely they would flat rate the job if able to do it. This could be cheaper. In this case you would not go to the cab stand but rather the limo area.
When I come home from the airport I plan on $50.00 to cover tolls and tip...and am happy when it costs me less, which it does. But who knows what kind of surcharges will be in place due to the cost of gas when you get here. I live just minutes from where you are going. Cover your base with $50.00.
I think taxi fare increases/surcharges have to be approved by a number of agencies. It usually makes the news and I have not heard anything. Pay attention to the link posted by Mahj. You do want to pay attention to the meter getting in and the toll added. Get a receipt in case you forget anything in the cab.
Thanks to all for your great advice which depending on how we feel when we land, we may entertain.
flaboy, I apologize for the late reply, but I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ve left for Boston yet, so I hope you will check.
If you want to estimate the taxi fare in Boston, you should try the site called TaxiFareFinder.com. There is a page for Boston, where you can type in your Somerville address and just choose other locations like Logan airport. (The site says $30.70 after tip.)
I believe the airport fee has risen from $6.50 to $7.50 in the recent months. I see inconsistent info on Boston websites, but I actually called and verified.
My cab from Logan to Winchester, which is a couple of towns further away but follows the same route, usually comes to $50 with a very generous tip. I did this as recently as 9 days ago.
Hello thanks for sharing nice information
