Hi all,
We%26#39;re staying at Marriott Custom House for a week. We have a 3 and 6 year old. Any suggestions for restaurants nearby? We do love Irish pubs. Also, any other kid friendly places.
Thanks!
Good restaurants for a family near Marriott Custom House
Hi,
First off, congrats on staying at the Custom House. I absolutely love that building. Custom House is right at the doorstep to Fanueil Hall Marketplace where you can find all sorts of take out places, as well as sit down restaurants. Durgin Park is there for sit down. It%26#39;s a hit or miss on the reviews but the prime rib and indian pudding is always very good. Salty%26#39;s Seafood Grill is another for you and the kids. Nearby on State Street is a place called Sel de Le Terre which is more expensive, but has great food and a children%26#39;s menu. Another short stroll up into the North End is Pizzeria Regina. Very famous brick oven pizza place. There are several Irish pubs in the vicinity of your hotel so you won%26#39;t be disappointed there. Between Fanueil Hall, State Street and the wharf area and the North End, you will not be far from food and excitement. Get yourselves and the kids an ice cream from Slugger%26#39;s Dugout and enjoy watching the street performers. I also recommend grabbing a chowder from Boston Chowda Company at Fanueil Hall too. So, don%26#39;t worry, you%26#39;ll find everything your looking for right there. Enjoy yourselves and feel free to ask anymore questions you may have.

Hi,
Legal Seafood has a location next to Sel DeLaTerre, right on Long Wharf. It%26#39;s about a 5 minute walk from your hotel. They have a children%26#39;s menu, which is always good with kids that age. It%26#39;s a nice location, right on the water.
The Salty Dog in Quincy Market is a good option. You and the kids can sit outdoors, and they can be entertained by the goings on at the Market, while you eat. It%26#39;s got very good seafood, especially the fried seafood. But, I believe they also have options for kids, like burgers and hot dogs.
The food court at Quincy Market is made for families too. There%26#39;s a huge assortment of different food and each one in the family can find something to suit their tastes.
There%26#39;s also a Bertucci%26#39;s restaurant, which is almost across the street from the Custom House, just outside Quincy Market. It%26#39;s one of the few chain places I recommend, because their Italian food is very tasty and reasonably-priced. They also have plenty of food for kids (plain spaghetti, meatballs, etc.). They also do very delicious wood-fired, brick oven pizzas.
Since you love Irish Pubs, the Black Rose is the perfect choice for you. It%26#39;s right across the street from the Marriott Custom House.

I second the Black Rose suggestion. The Purple Shamrock up by Faneuil Hall and Kinsale by Gov%26#39;t Cter are also good. Good food. Big portions. Not too expensive. Burgers and fries for the kids.
For fast-food options, the Faneuil Hall food court is dependable. Lots of choices. Not too expensive. It can be loud and busy, but it%26#39;s cheap and fast too.
For something different, you might try Chinatown if the kids like Chinese food. It%26#39;s a walk from the hotel, but not too far. Chinatown is fun for kids who have never seen fishtanks in grocery stores or had Chinese pastries (the bakeries are AMAZING...Bao Bao is wonderful) Kids who won%26#39;t eat stir fry might like a treat from Bao Bao.

They have these light cakes, somewhat like angel food cake but denser and... amazing...
Go to the Irish Pubs for lunch because the Pubs turn into adult only bars in the evening.
