I have just taken about an hour to write part 3 of my trip report and when I pressed the submit button the internet connection went down.I tried several times but to no avail.I then pressed refresh and lost the whole bloomin lot.
I now have to go and catch a plane to come home to UK from Portugal so cannot write anything until tomorrow.
Screaming has now subsided-just.
Feeling sick
It won%26#39;t help, but I must say
';been there, done that, got the t shirt';
Why do we always remember that good advice about backing up just a little too late.......?
Feeling sick
I sympathize and offer condolences.
My reason for commenting: A word to the wise, slightly OT... If you write/research/edit/repeat... or go do something else or snooze with the ';Post a Reply'; window open for more than an hour, you%26#39;ll lose it all when you push ';Submit';. Or at least it was the case up until a few months ago. Before testing it, at least copy what you%26#39;ve written first so you can paste it if this is still true.
Firewind
So that is good advice for the future.
Write your report on Word or any other word processing programme, save it and then paste to the reply page.
I intend to write up reports of all 3 cities so I will follow your advice.
Too late for annie this time unfortunately
I actually just meant to select all, and click ';Copy';, so that the content can be pasted when the dreaded blank box pops up. I%26#39;m sure it%26#39;s clear that there%26#39;s only one way to learn this... Actually two, now. (Insert wistful smiley here.)
OK now I get it.
Will try that much simpler way next time I post

Look at that, it works :)
I just meant I learned the lesson the hard way. As you said, ';Been there...'; The second way is to have someone tell about it.
My big problem was that I was using my computer in Portugal and everything-cut/paste/copy etc is in Portuguese. My husband is always there to help me but I was there by myself. When we are next there I am going to go through everything with him so hopefully this will not happen again.I hope!
