My wife is a strict vegetarian, and we are going to Martha%26#39;s Vineyard for a long weekend. Any suggestions of restaurants with vegetarian restaurants - especially for lunch? We%26#39;re splitting our trip between Oak Bluffs and Mememsha, and generally skip the really fancy restaurants.
Any advice for vegetarian dining options?I am not a vegetarian, but I think you will be able to find plenty of food she can eat. She doesn%26#39;t mind eating at a restaurant that offers meat, does she? Anyhow, a lot of the everyday restaurants will have things like salads, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, and the like. I know there are a few of these restaurants on the main drag in Oak Bluffs (on Circuit Avenue), and also in Edgartown. I just can%26#39;t think of the names of the restaurants. And of course there are pizza and pasta places, and perhaps some falafel. At the little seafood shacks, I think she can find some things to eat as well.
Any advice for vegetarian dining options?My kids are vegetarian, so I tend to eat that way most of the time. Here are a few of our favs;
In Oak Bluffs
Sharkey%26#39;s Cantina (also newly opened in Edgartown)
Nancy%26#39;s - on harbor Great large falafel plate
O%26#39;Sun - Japanese cuisine - noodles, miso, edamame
Thai Cuisine - good phad thai, noodles, etc
Season%26#39;s or Lookout - avocado maki, veg rolls
Slice of Life - grilled veggie sandwich, salads
Pomodoro - Pasta, pizza, nice large salads
Menemsha
Helman%26#39;s - just opened Nice portabello/veg sandwich
In between - In W. Tisbury, the Scottish Bakehouse has Great veggie options - quinoa burger, veggie/tofu stirfry over brown rice, veggie soups, wheat free brownies, and in the frig to go - spicy noodles and quinoa salad
Much more here, but this at least lets you know you have solid options. Enjoy!
Thanks!
