Staying in Cambridge 5/30-6/01-Want to explore Boston

So I took a weekend to do some traveling and decided on historic Boston, Mass. I am staying in Cambridge, which I understand is not far from the aiport and Boston. I arrive about 11 am Friday, depart home late Sun evening. I%26#39;m traveling alone- what does anyone suggest as far as sightseeing? Duck tours? I want to see Boston Harbor too, but don%26#39;t known of any tours. Please help!

Duck Tours are great. You%26#39;ll want to check out the Freedom Trail. There are Harbor Cruises (your concierge should have a full array of brochures). When in Cambridge, there%26#39;s Harvard Square...Central Square (lots of cheap eats). There%26#39;s the River... There%26#39;s really lots and lots to do. You might want to check out the ';things to do'; portion of TA and come back here with more specific questions.

There are short harbor cruises:

or you could spend more time exploring the islands in the harbor:

Duck Tours:

I got on the website, took the virtual tour, but does the tour stop at all the locations, meaning can one get off to look around or is it just riding by the locations? Thanks!

Duck Tours is a ride-by-the-sights type of tour.

There are a couple of tour companies like this that have a hop on-hop off option:

If you just want a look at the harbor, you can also take the MBTA Inner Harbor Ferry between Long Wharf and the Charlestown Navy Yard. The fare is $1.70 one way and if you have a T pass, that will work too. The ferry runs every half hour during the day on weekends. While in Charlestown, you can visit the USS Constitution. See www.mbta.com for details. Choose BOAT, then route F4.

Take the T to the Aquarium - from there take a harbor cruise, one that will drop you off and pick you up at the Constitution. My wife and I did this on our first date in June 1985 (I think) and we are still married.

Fo the hop on/off trolley tours, look into Old Town Trolley. It will take you to most of the popular sites in Boston as well as a bit of Cambridge.
