Q about hotel and closest train station

Hello.

I have booked a room at the Marriott Copley Place for my stay.

I will be arriving in Boston from NYC on the train. I%26#39;ve checked the Amtrak site, and want to confirm with you locals that I should be getting off at Back Bay station.

Thanks in advance,

Mez

Back Bay station is correct.

Q about hotel and closest train station

That was quick!

Thanks.

Once you%26#39;re inside the Back Bay station, look for signs for the Dartmouth Street walkway. It%26#39;s an underground tunnel that will connect you to Copley Place without having to deal with the traffic issues. You do have to schlepp through the Copley Place Mall but I%26#39;d rather that than the street.

The area there is definitely safe and Copley Mall is very upscale. Plenty of helpful staff at that station to direct you.

Thank you everyone!

I%26#39;ve never been to Boston before, which is why I booked the hotel. I can cancel later if I get a better deal.

Right now I%26#39;m reading these forums and some gudebooks to figure out what to do. My main issue is that i will be there in Dec, so I%26#39;m assuming that many of the outdoor activities won%26#39;t be an option at that time of yeat. :)

It%26#39;s likely going to be too cold for Duck Boats, but downtown Boston at the Christmas season is very festive, I think you%26#39;ll enjoy it a lot.

Plus the ice skating rink will be open on Boston Common, that%26#39;s a lot of fun.

True, the Duck Boats will be finished for the season but I think the rolling trolley tours will be running. They have these clear snap-on plastic flaps that enclose the trolley and keep the passengers out of the wind and rain.

The weather can be rather unpredictable in December, and I%26#39;m sure for a Sydneysider it will seem frigid, but if the sun%26#39;s out I encourage you to get out and walk a little. The city%26#39;s downtown and tourist areas are decorated for the holidays and if there is a smattering of snow on the ground it%26#39;s lovely. There%26#39;s just this energy in the air - enjoy!

Thanks for the info.

Weather wise I%26#39;m preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. :)

Make sure you bring warm clothing December can be nasty.
