Locals & Duck Tours

I am thinking of buying my sister a Duck Tour as a gift. I think it sounds fantastic, however, she lives in Boston and I am wondering if a local would see this as a lame gift. I know it visits sites on land before it hits the water and I am sure she has already been those sites. What do you think?

Locals %26amp; Duck Tours

Without knowing your sister, I don%26#39;t know. I do know that many locals haven%26#39;t taken a Duck Tour, but usually enjoy it if they do one. If she%26#39;s got a good sense of humor, she should like it. I know I liked going. The conDucktors[drivers] are funny and upbeat. Just being so high up in the vehicle gives you a good view looking down and around. The river gives some great views of the city, even for locals. It is very touristy however. The locals like to yell ';quack quack'; when they go by. I was guilty of this yesterday. They were waiting to leave the Prudential Center and I had to quack them. They responded by blowing on their quackers back at me. We all shared a good laugh and off they went. Even if she doesn%26#39;t like it, it%26#39;s only about 45 minutes long.

Locals %26amp; Duck Tours

You gotta hand it to whoever created this concept, it%26#39;s a business winner. Every time one goes by, and the people on board blow on their ';quackers';, I quack up too. It%26#39;s just plain fun.

Great gift idea. I%26#39;m a local and I enjoyed the duck tours. Granted I took out of town visitors on it but still its a great time. Besides it%26#39;s the thought that counts and you clearly spend time on the thought.

Anyone who lives in Boston should love it. Even if she knows the tourist spots, the conDUCKtor gives a lot of info she may not know. Plus, the view of Back Bay from the Charles is worth it. Sometimes seeing your city through the eyes of a tourist can bring about a stronger appreciation.

I%26#39;m a local and have been on the duck tours and if someone gave that to me as a gift I know I would love it!!

Great gift idea, just make sure you get the certificate for ';Boston Duck Tour.'; (There is a competitor ';Super Duck Tour'; it is not as good as the original ';Boston Duck Tour.';)

FYI-

The ride is approximately an 80 minute ride.

Right on Remay. I have done the tour once and don%26#39;t know why I wrote 45 minutes. It is 80 minutes. I guess the old saying is true. ';Time flies when your having fun!';

QUACK QUACK

Thanks to all of you for your replies and help. It sounds like so much fun and I am pretty sure I am going to get this as a gift for her. Right now it%26#39;s down to the Duck Tours and another tour I read about. I will post that one separately and get feed back on it also.

Thanks again for taking time to help me.

I bet she%26#39;d love the gift, especially if you%26#39;d be coming with her. For me personally it would not be on my top list of things to do on my own. (From grade school on up, I%26#39;ve heard all about all the landmarks, know the history...or as much as I care to...) Having lived here for my whole life, I%26#39;d feel like it was wasted on me and ... to be honest, I%26#39;d probably quietly pass it on to someone from someplace else...or at least buy another ticket and take someone else with me. Otherwise, I%26#39;d feel like I was wasting it.

HOWEVER, it would be lots of fun if I had out of town friends or little kids to bring along. They let my out-of-town cousin%26#39;s daughter drive the boat in the Charles River and.. they LOVED it.
