Good Hotel

Am looking for good hotel reasonably close to downtown or at least nearby to T terminal.Any recommendations would be welcomed.

Cheers.

Good Hotel

There are dozens and dozens of such hotels, in a wide variety of price ranges.

I think you would be hard-pressed to locate a Boston hotel during your search that%26#39;s NOT near the T, and thus close to downtown.

If you have more specific needs that might help us recommend one, that would be helpful.

Imagine a circle with Boston Common in the center, and a radius of about 1 mile. That%26#39;s where you want to be. That circle covers the vast majority of what you want to see in Boston, and most of it is walkable. It%26#39;s hard to go wrong with many of the hotels in that imaginary circle. There are T-stops everywhere within walking distance of anything. Nice hotels I%26#39;ve stayed at are Lenox, Omni, Colonnade, Fairmont Copley. Check the reviews here; remember, there is always someone who complains about every hotel, but look at what the vast majority of reviewers say about a given place. Boston is not a cheap city, but still less costly than NYC or London. Avoid Roxbury; it%26#39;s the equivalent of Brixton in London.

Price out the hotels in prime locations (Copley, Faneuil Hall, etc.) and then work your way out. You can find on these boards suggestions for hotels not in downtown but on the T, but it%26#39;s much nicer to stay downtown if possible rather than face a 20-30 minute train ride in... if you have to do that for finiancial reasons, there are nice options but it%26#39;s much cooler to be downtown...

We stayed at the Lenox in Backbay in March and would definitely stay again. It is a two minute walk from Copley T station or 5 minutes from backbay T station.
