Fishermans Festival..North End....

Fishermans Festival..North End....

When is this festival?

Fishermans Festival..North End....

today is last day......

Bummer!

The Flight of the Angel is the only interesting part. Other than that I don%26#39;t find these North End ';Festivals'; to be of much interest to those not members of the sponsoring organization. There are the ubiquitous sausage carts and a few cheap items for sale. It%26#39;s a good excuse to eat at one of the restaurants there, though.

For the flight, the street will be packed. Overhead, a young girl in costume comes out a third story apartment window in angel costume, on a wire strung between that apt. and one on the other side of the narrow street. When she reaches the middle, she is lowered to the ground, recites a prayer in front of the statue of Mary (I believe) waiting in the street and and is than hoisted back up and pulled backwards in to the same window. The funniest part, the last time I went, was seeing the hand of the mother of the girl reach out and firmly grasp her ankle as she got near the window.

You sold your Sox tix to go to the Fishermans%26#39; Festival??????? Who told you to do that??????

I%26#39;m afraid you will have to renounce your membership in Red Sox Nation...

Do ';real'; Red Sox fans sell their tickets to go to a fisherman%26#39;s festival? Maybe if they are 20 games behind, but probably not last year.
