Weather in August

I%26#39;ll be in Boston 8/21-8/24 and I was wondering what type of clothes to pack. Does it get cool in the evenings? Is it really humid during the days?

I%26#39;m from Michigan so I understand unpredictable weather. I was just hoping for an average temperature for that time of year. :)

Thanks!!

Average temps are low 80%26#39;s day, mid 60%26#39;s night. Pack mostly summer gear and throw in a long sleeve shirt or two just in case. Pack mainly for summertime weather.

Sounds good! Thanks!! :)

It could be very humid. Also, thunder showers are common.

Go to the trip planner on the right, enter your dates, and it will give you a 5 year history of temps on those dates. Not a perfect science, especially in New England, but it should give you a good idea.

August is a somewhat transitional month - sultry, hazy days or cool, wet and wrapped in fog. I%26#39;ve seen both on the same day!

That said, pack the summer-like clothing but add a light fleece or sweatshirt. And check to see what the lunar schedule will be when you%26#39;re here. The late summer moon is quite impressive as it rises over the evening skyline.
