We are going to Sandwich in May and really don%26#39;t want to drive out of Boston (OK so we are wimps !). Can anyone tell me roughly how much a cab would be and if there are any bus services that would take us from Logan airport to Sandwich ?
Getting to Sandwich Cape Cod
A cab would be hugely expensive! Try this:

Getting to Sandwich Cape CodThanks Pastiche I thought it would be I am on the case with PB.....brilliant thanks for your help
I know you%26#39;re a little (well, a lot) concerned about driving, but it%26#39;s only a little overan hour and then you%26#39;d have the means to get around on your own on Cape Cod. From the Airport, you follow the signs to the Ted Williams Tunnel (90 west) and then 93 South just after the tunnel. 93 South to 3 South and over the Sagamore Bridge and you%26#39;re in Sandwich. It%26#39;s all highway driving.

Perhaps you would prefer to take a train part way from Boston to Plymouth and then rent a car or catch a bus to Sandwich? It is not an option I usually suggest because, to enjoy all of Cape Cod, you really need a car and, like others have mentioned, it%26#39;s not really difficult to get to Cape Cod on the main roads once you are out of Boston. In any event, I%26#39;m not sure about the connections etc. in Plymouth or the schedule of the commuter train but you can check out the details on http://www.mbta.com/
Thanks all....its the getting out of Boston that worries us and we want to hire a car once on the Cape...where would you recommend hiring a car when we are in Sandwich ?
You can also fly from Boston to Hyannis and rent a car at the airport in Hyannis. Depending where you are staying in Sandwich you may be quite a distance from the bus stop.
We rent frequently with Enterprise when traveling (www.enterprise.com). They%26#39;ll pick you up wherever you are, take you to the agency to pick up your car, and then drive you back after you turn in the car. You can do a search for locations near Sandwich. Very convenient!
P.S. I%26#39;m originally from the Boston area, and I share your anxiety about the city traffic.
I can understand your hesitancy about driving in Boston! Usually the problem is driving from one part of Boston to another part of Boston. Once out on the highways outside Boston the drive shouldn%26#39;t be too bad but still to drive on a side of the road you%26#39;re not familiar with etc isn%26#39;t the most fun. The time of year you are going also on Cape Cod is much quieter traffic wise so if you can rent a car for travel around Sandwich and Cape Cod it would be ideal. Also most rental cars are automatic in the states so you won%26#39;t have to deal with stick shift.
Gosh are all you Americans so helpful....thanks all so much....we have decided to go for the Plymouth and Brockton bus from Logan to Hyannis then cab to Sandwich. Hire car sounds good from Enterprise...what will the weather be like in the middle of May
