We have just come back from a trip to Boston where we stayed at The Clarenden Square Inn. One word sums up the experience. WONDERFUL!
It was excellent, owners, staff, so helpful. All the bedrooms are different, with beautiful furnishings and bed linen. The public areas are thoughtfully decorated, even a grand piano which one can play if inclined, a hot tub on the roof, where you can enjoy the view.
Breakfast is included, which is a cold buffet style, adequate for ones needs, varying every day. (No fry ups)
Not an hotel for very young families, but I would recommend without reservations

Thanks for coming by and giving two thumbs up for the Clarendon Square. The South End is a very beautiful neighborhood and the reviews of the Clarendon are always very good. I%26#39;m so glad you had a wonderful time. Just a FYI for you in case you didn%26#39;t know...no B%26amp;B%26#39;s in Boston are allowed to cook hot meals for the guests because it%26#39;s against the law.
Glad you had a great time in Boston!

Only cold meals are allowed in B%26amp;Bs in Boston? Wow! I%26#39;ve never heard this before. What%26#39;s the origin of such an odd law?
I%26#39;m not certain of the law and whether it violates city fire codes or food service codes. I have always noticed that every B%26amp;B in the city always notes a continental style breakfast in the morning, while a place like the Samuel Sewall Inn just over the line in Brookline offers hot breakfast.
If I%26#39;m wrong, I apologize, but I do remember reading a B%26amp;B website that said it was forbidden from providing stovetop cooking. I think Microwaves and toasters are ok.
