Hotel Marlowe. Is the area safe? Convenient?

Hi,

We are planning on going to Boston for the weekend. We were thinking of staying at the Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge. Can any of the local experts kindly advise us about the safely of the area? Is it safe to take the subway back to the hotel after a night out in Boston? Also, how difficult is it to get to most of the tourist sites in Boston from the Hotel?

Thanks for any information and suggestions that you can offer!

Hotel Marlowe. Is the area safe? Convenient?

This is a safe area. It is a nice place to stay, especially this time of year. Cabs are going to cost around ten dollars each way. You can walk to Charles Steet in about 15-20 minutes.

Key word the hotel in the search box. There has been much written.

The hotel is near to the Cambridgeside Galleria, and the Museum of Science. It%26#39;s a nice stroll down the Cambridge side of the Charles, or you can walk in 10 minutes and be at the Lechmere T station. The station is only a block or two on the other side of the mall. There should be no issues with getting off the T at night at there is a Cheesecake Factory location and other restaurants nearby. You%26#39;re also not too far from the Royal Sonesta hotel.

Here%26#39;s the location on Google Maps.

Hi,

The area where the Hotel Marlowe is located is certainly safe. As with any metro area, be aware of your surroundings. You won%26#39;t have any problem riding the T to and from your hotel, day or night. You may not like the walk to either the Lechmere or Science Park T stops (green line) as it%26#39;s about a half mile to either from the hotel, but not too bad. About a 10-12 minute walk. The hotel has a walkway that connects you to the Cambridgeside Galleria Mall which is nice if you have the desire to go shopping on a whim. There are fantastic restaurants in the immediate area as well. Once your on the T, getting to anywhere in Boston will be a piece of cake. You can hop off at Haymarket or Government Center which are short walks to the North End, Fanueil Hall/Quincy Market and the harbor. You can take the green line further and hop off at Boylston for Boston Common and the start of the Freedom Trail, Arlington for the Public Garden and Copley for the Back Bay. The green line will take you to most places you need to get to. Any other places simply require transferring to another line at North, State or Park Street Stations. Very easy and convienent.

So, in a nutshell, it%26#39;s safe, it%26#39;s easy to get anywhere in Boston once on the T, it%26#39;s a good hotel and I would stay there in a heartbeat.
