Where to stay - 2 days

My husband and I are traveling to Cape cod (our first time)on June 21/22.

We are looking for place to stay which is mid distance from other cape towns, has good places to eat, beach, shop etc. Some reasonable night life wld be great.

I have looked at Annabella%26#39;s inn and Sandwich center inn in Sandwich. The inns look delightfull but I%26#39;m not sure about the beaches in Sandwich (looking for calm waters) and if its too quite for us ?

All suggetsions are welcome .

Thanks.

Hi Ny,

Sandwich is a beautiful town with a wonderful beach called Sandy Neck. It%26#39;s 6 miles long and is on Cape Cod Bay (calm waters). There%26#39;s a beautiful, LONG boardwalk that you can walk that leads through marsh lands to Sandwich%26#39;s other beach, Town Beach. Very nice indeed. It%26#39;s a very quaint town famous for antiquing, a blown glass museum, oldest house on Cape Cod (Hoxie House), Dexter Grist Mill and Heritage Plantation. You can head to the marina and watch the fishermen and lobstermen unload their catches. There%26#39;s not much in the way of nightlife. If your bored, travel into Falmouth or Hyannis to get your fix. The drive along route 6A from Sandwich to Orleans is 34 miles long and one of the best in the country. For a short stay, I would certainly recommend staying there. It%26#39;s also convienent for getting back over the bridge for your trip home. Staying in an Inn is the way to go. If you can%26#39;t find anything, consider staying at The Country Acres Motel. It%26#39;s a very decent place to stay. Very reasonable as well. Enjoy your first visit to Cape Cod.

Just to add on, there%26#39;s plenty of places to eat and drink, just no nightclubs.

British Beer Company

Bobby Byrnes Pub

Amari Bar %26amp; Ristorante

Hemisphere Waterfront Dining

Sandwich Tavern %26amp; Steakhouse

Seafood Sam%26#39;s

Tomatoes Bar %26amp; Italian Grill

For just a short stay, like two nights, Sandwich will be an ok base. If you stay on the upper cape then you should probably save the National Seashore towns and beaches, on the outer cape, for another visit. Really, you will only have one full day to explore and it would be a shame to spend half of it in the car! I have heard many nice things about Annabells B+B, which is fairly new but well rated.

If you should decide to base on the outer cape, say Eastham, which is midway between Chatham and Provincetown, let me know and I%26#39;ll give you some other suggestions.

thanks for all your replies.

Yellowbird - at this time I%26#39;m open to suggestions on our base location. Do let me know if you have suggestions for upper cape. We wld ideally not like to spend more than 175/180 $ per day on hotel stay. Also ideally we wld like a 3 day stay, but both Annabella%26#39;s and Sandwich Inn dont have anything for 3 days.
