My husband and some friends will be playing in this year%26#39;s TPC of Boston. The wives would like to tag along and make it a long weekend. Can anyone recommend some great places to stay in the area? Some older posts recommend staying in Providence? Would you agree or are there other towns I should be researching? Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Places to stay for the TPC of Boston
Providence, RI is about 30 minutes from Norton, MA, and on a good day to reach downtown Boston from Norton would be about 40-50 minutes if there is not a lot of traffic. The closest hotels would be about 10 minutes away include The Residence Inn, Courtyard, Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn. They are located in Mansfield and Foxboro, MA.
Are you interested in a close location to the TPC or do you want a nice hotel in Providence or Boston?

What%26#39;s TPC and when does it occur?
Hi,
I would agree that many paricipants and spectators use Providence as their base. It has the most lodging, dining, shopping and nightlife options of anywhere in the vicinity. Travel time from Providence to Norton without traffic is right around a half hour. I remember one golfer who almost missed his tee time at last years event due to the traffic, so plan accordingly if staying in Providence. It%26#39;s still the best option if you want something to do after spending the day in Norton. Many others spend the Holiday weekend in Boston. Much more to do and see than Providence, but it%26#39;s more expensive and travel time without traffic is about 1 hour. If staying in the city doesn%26#39;t matter, you can look at places around the Attleboro and Taunton areas. Taunton has a nice Holiday Inn right off of 495, about 6 miles from TPC, but don%26#39;t expect anything more than a decent place to stay.
TPC stands for Tournanment Players Club. It refers to the golf course, like TPC Scottsdale and others. It%26#39;s the Duetche Bank Classic at TPC Boston and it happens every year over the Labor Day weekend. Good place to see Tiger Woods IF you can get tickets.
Thanks for the info.
On Saturday, August 30, it will be a ';Waterfire'; night in Providence. It is a wonderful event.
