Trip to Boston and Cape Cod

Hey, my name is Gali, my family and I are planning a trip to the east cost. we%26#39;ll probably finish our trip in NYC and plan to spend 2-3 days at Boston and the cape.

I%26#39;d like to know how long does it take to drive from Boston to the Cape (and which towns are the most interesting in both cities).

Thanks!

Trip to Boston and Cape Cod

We just drove down there a week or so ago. We left Boston airport about 3pm and got to our destination in CHatham around 7. Along the way we stopped in Plymouth for an hour or so, so you could make it faster if you were in a hurry. We spent 2 nights in Chatham and 2 nights in Boston. I personally could have done with an additional night in each place as they were both great stops.

With no traffic, the airport to Chatham will be right around two hours with no stops. I do agree that you really won%26#39;t have enough time to enjoy either place very much. I would just enjoy both places as best you can. Both places have plenty to do and see. Enjoy.

Drive time to the Cape depends on a few factors -- time of year you are travelling, time of day, and what part of the cape you are going to. Obviously the trip is shorter if you only go to the beginning of the Cape whereas if you drive all the way to Provincetown you are adding travel time.

As far as your stay in Boston I highly recommend you try to get accommodations in the heart of the city to maximize your visit.

www.mapquest.com is helpful THOUGH you must adjust for rush hour times in the city and getting on and off the Cape on weekends. If you are driving the East Coast, keep in mind rush hour traffic both in Boston and in NYC (it%26#39;s less of a hassle in Providence, though it can be slow there, but not as bad as in Boston or NY.

Thank you for all your answers!

Do any of you happen to know a nice place to tour in Boston or Cape cod which isn%26#39;t full of tourists? It might be nice for once not to ';go with the flow';...

When are you coming?

between the 7/22/2008-8/12/2008

Your coming for 3 weeks and only spending 3 days for Boston and Cape Cod?

Well, you%26#39;ll be coming during the peak of the summer tourist season, so anywhere nice that you want to go, you can expect to have plenty of people there joining you. Maybe if you tell us what your interests are, we could steer you in the right direction.

Is there anyway you could adjust your time in Boston/Cape Cod? If you stayed 2 nights in each this would be the minimum most people would recommend. If not I%26#39;d spend the whole time in Boston and like previous posters said get a centrally located downtown hotel so you%26#39;ll be in the heart of everything (even though the prices seem high for hotels downtown you won%26#39;t have to waste time traveling to and from your lodging).
