Hotel off Mass Pike for Emmanuel College Visit

Hello.

My niece has to be at Emmanuel College for an 8 a.m. visit on a Thursday. We plan to drive from CT Wednesday night and get as close to Boston as we can. The hotels in Boston are either full or too $$. So we plan to get off the Mass Pike maybe 1/2 hour or so before getting into Boston so that in the morning we just have to drive maybe 30 or 40 minutes to the College. (Emmanuel College on the Fenway)

Does anyone have any idea where we can get off the Turnpike and find a place to stay not too far from our destination? Again we are coming from CT.

Thanks.

The Mariott in Newton is right there at the Pike/95/128 interchange. Nice hotel and free parking. You can also easily get to the green line which drops you 5 minutes from Emmanuel.

I also like Eileen%26#39;s suggestion. The hotel provides free shuttle service to the green line T station from 6am-noon and then again from 2:30-7:30pm You wouldn%26#39;t even have to take your car into town. Hop off the green line at the Fenway stop and Emmanuel is 2 blocks away. Take it all the way back to Riverside stop (last stop) for the shuttle back. Cost of the T is $2 pp each way.

I also like the above suggestions. If they are full, though, you could stay in the Framinghm/Natick area at Exit 13 off the Pike. There are several hotels in the vicinity, as well as a ton of shopping.

Instead of staying ';off the Pike'; you could stay OVER the Pike. The Sheraton Newton is built right over the road (that%26#39;s why it%26#39;s a good idea to request a high floor).

Avoid the Sheraton Newton. It%26#39;s an awful hotel, badly in need of renovations, and very very noisy, even on the highest floor. In order to drown out the highway noise, you have to turn on the air conditioning, which creates a different type of noise. The actual act of sleeping at the Sheraton Newton is a near impossibility.

Plus, there%26#39;s this lovely little notice at the Sheraton Newton%26#39;s website:

Special Conditions

Maintenance on Nearby Over Pass: April 9 - July 11, 2008

From April 9, 2008, through July 11, 2008, the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority will be working on the over pass directly under the hotel for approximately 12 weeks. The work will occur Sunday through Thursday between the hours of 11pm and 4am. Please contact the hotel for further information.

Thanks everyone for your help! I%26#39;ll check into these options!!

I like the suggestion to take the Green Line trolley into town. If you arrive early enough on Wednesday you could do a %26#39;practice run%26#39; and take the trolley into town for dinner Wednesday night. I only sugget this as you have such an early appointment on the Thursday. Allow plenty of time for the trolley ride into town as you%26#39;ll be going when all the commuters are also going into town.
