Hi everyone, I would appreciate some feedback on the easiest way to get from Rodeway Inn to centre of Boston, including where you can get connections to cambridge etc..., I know that you can take the Blue line subway from Revere Beach to State station, but wonder if Revere Beach station is the nearest to Rodeway Inn which is on American Legion Highway.
Many thanks for any info.
Transport from Rodeway Inn logan international to cityThe Wonderland Blue line T stop is about 2 Kilometers away from The Rodeway Inn.
It looks like the motel offers a free shuttle to the airport, probably best to ask if the shuttle can drop you off at the Blue Line%26#39;s Airport T stop.
Is there any way you can change your accommodations? This motel is located on busy Route 60. It is old and had many different names before becoming the Rodeway Inn. The reviews are bad and the location is not convenient to anything.
Transport from Rodeway Inn logan international to cityYeah...it%26#39;s not a fabulous location. If you must stay there, the T ride in on the Blue Line is probably around 20 minutes, maybe less. You can get off at State Street, which is close to Downtown crossing, or Government Center, which is at City Hall, close to Faneuil Hall.
To connect to Cambridge, take blue to Govt Ctr and switch to Green to Park Street. At Park, switch to an Alewife Train.
You can also go blue to orange at State Street and take orange to red at Downtown Crossing, where you%26#39;d get the Alewife train. If you look at a map of the T (www.mbta.com) you can work this out.
Thank you, that is already a big help.
I have been looking at the subway map and things are becoming more clear.
I also would like to visit Concord to go to the museum there and see this historic place. Other than that still working on the itinerary, altogether about three/four days to spend in Boston.
Thanks for concern about the Rodeway Inn. The reviews are varied, we%26#39;ll see how it works out.
Appreciate any feedback, thank you.
You can get to Concord on the commuter rail Firtchburg line from North Station or Porter (on the Red line subway). You have to walk a bit to get to (I am assuming you mean) the Concord Museum. There are also some writers%26#39; houses open as museums, the burial ground and the Revolutionary War historic sights, but most are a rather longer hike.

From the remote location of that hotel, it will probably take half a day to get to Concord. IMO, it might be false economizing to stay way out there on a three or four day trip, spending most of your valuable time just travelling to the places you want to see.
Thanks for your reply, I found your info interesting.
I%26#39;m not sure that I understand why it should take so long to commute between Boston central and the Rodeway Inn, it is only a few miles away, is public transport in Boston pretty bad then? Not asumming anything though, and dying to come visiting. I don%26#39;t mind a walk either, for visiting sites in the city a lot of it can be done on foot I believe(?)
Our accommodation is booked and I%26#39;d rather make the best of it, so preparation is the key.
Many thanks for your help.
Have you tried http://publicroutes.com/. Easier to get MBTA bus, T Subway and Rail directions from Rodeway Inn to Center of Boston.
Hi,
While I am another one who wouldn%26#39;t recommend staying there, I completely understand that you intend to, which is fine. The public transit is quick and efficient. You will be at State Street station from Wonderland in about 15 minutes. The 1 mile walk to get to and from Wonderland will take the most time. Probably a 20 minute walk. If your staying out late in Boston, be sure not to miss the last blue line train back to Wonderland, around midnight. State Street will put you right in the heart of the action around Fanueil Hall, the Harbor and North End. Taking the T or walking around Boston are both easy. Whatever you don%26#39;t want to walk, take the T. To see Lexington and Concord without a car is a little more involved. I would highly recommend taking the Liberty Ride Tour from Lexington. Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for kids and kids under 5 are free. Take the red line from Park Street station to Alewife station, then bus 62 or 76 which will take you into Lexington Center where the trolley tour starts. I%26#39;ve never taken the Fitchburg Line out of North Station to Concord, so I don%26#39;t know where it drops you off up there.
A 15-20 minute subway ride isn%26#39;t very long considering you are staying outside the city.
The issue isn%26#39;t the subway ride, it%26#39;s getting TO the station. It%26#39;s probably more than a mile to Wonderland, further to Revere Beach. There are T buses that run near the Rodeway but I%26#39;m not sure how frequently they run. I%26#39;d check w/ hotel staff upon arrival. I%26#39;m sure they can direct you.
Thanks to AdamHunger%26#39;s suggestion on the Public Route website,
I did a search using the site and it looks like you can catch MBTA bus 450 to Haymarket and will take less than 20 minutes. At Haymarket, you can walk to many tourist attractions including the Freedom Trail. (I tend to forget about busses, sorry)
